Getting to Pontresina

Journey by car

The Engadin is reachable by car from most of Central Europe.

Zurich–Pontresina: 200 km, 3 h
Milan–Pontresina: 175 km, 3 h
Munich–Pontresina: 300 km, 4 h
Basel–Pontresina: 250 km, 4 h

In winter, mountain passes may require snow chains or a 4×4. We recommend the car train via the Vereina tunnel at Klosters as a reliable alternative. Current road conditions are available here.

Journey by train

The Rhaetian Railway from Chur to St. Moritz is one of the great train journeys of Europe: loop tunnels, stone viaducts and a landscape that shape-shifts with every bend. The Albula and Bernina lines have been UNESCO World Heritage sites since 2008. A recommended way of getting to Pontresina.

Journey by private jet

Engadin Airport in Samedan offers direct connections for private aircraft, with air-taxi transfers available to and from national and international destinations.
